Music

Through interdisciplinary research, music bridges tradition and innovation and fosters dialogue between science, the arts and society.

Music is brought to life at the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, ranging from historical compositions to contemporary developments. Through projects, conferences and concerts, the Academy combines musicological research with musical practice and conveys their cultural and social significance. The aim is to promote an understanding of musical heritage and innovation, to open up new perspectives and to strengthen the dialogue between researchers, artists and the public.
