Curriculum Vitae

Andrea Rapp, born 19 September 1963, studied from 1982 to 1990 German Studies, Art History and Ethnology at the University of Trier and received her PhD there in 1996. This was followed by positions at the University of Trier, including in SFB 235 „Zwischen Maas und Rhein“, as Managing Director of the „Trier Center for Digital Humanities“ and as Head of the Digitisation Centre at the Lower Saxony State and University Library Göttingen. Since 2010 she has been Professor of German Studies – Computational Philology and Medieval Studies at TU Darmstadt. In her research on the language, literature and culture of the Middle Ages, digital transformation is part of her field, so that traditional philological and digital methods are integratively combined. This includes the development of digital analysis technologies, the creation of digital editions and dictionaries, as well as the sustainable development of research infrastructures and the reflection on digitality in philological research and in the field of Cultural Heritage.
