The HERMES Data Competence Centre announces its third Data Challenge: In cooperation with NFDI4Culture (consortium for research data on Material and Immaterial cultural heritage within the National Research Data Infrastructure), all interested parties are invited to participate in the development of an AI-supported research and exploration tool for musicological data in the Culture Knowledge Graph.

Knowledge graphs are increasingly being used to store, link and contextualise complex research data. By integrating heterogeneous, distributed data sources and their semantic description, they enable structured and interoperable access to information about cultural heritage. This makes them particularly valuable for research in the humanities – including musicology.

The aim is to develop an AI-supported tool that enables researchers to explore musicological knowledge in the Culture Knowledge Graph and beyond in a dialogical manner.
