Master's Degree Digital Methodology

We teach digital skills in the humanities and cultural studies

This cross-university degree programme combines applied computer science with the humanities and cultural studies. Teaching is closely linked to research and focuses on the processing of various sources (text, language, music, 3D objects, geodata), with an emphasis on web technologies. The programme is interdisciplinary and is structured around methodology rather than specific disciplines. Graduates are sought after as qualified staff in many sectors, as they combine IT skills with a humanities-based approach.

In addition to regular contributions to the lecture series, the Academy, against the institutional backdrop of the Academy Programme and the Digital Academy, places particular emphasis on the areas of digital editing, web applications and the practical module. The focus of the one-week International Summer School (ISS), which also serves as the opening event for new students each winter semester, is an annual highlight in the Academy’s teaching programme.
