The Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz actively supports academic careers: students, doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral researchers benefit from a well-designed training program. One component of this is the WissKomm Academy, a center of excellence for science communication offering training courses, event series, and an academy award for science journalism. In addition, the Academy supports early-career researchers through the Young Academy, Academy chairs, doctoral fellowships, trainee positions, internships, and a variety of awards. This helps to sustainably build professional expertise, networks, and career prospects.

WissKomm Academy

The WissKomm Academy is an innovative competency center for science communication at the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, funded by the Ministry of Science and Health of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. It brings together knowledge and ideas related to the communication of scientific content and provides a dialogue-based approach to understanding the mechanisms, opportunities, and challenges involved.

This cross-university program combines applied computer science with the humanities and cultural studies. The curriculum—closely linked to research—focuses on the analysis of diverse sources, with an emphasis on web technologies.
