On 4 July 2025 at 7 p.m., pianist Sofja Gülbadamova will give a concert in the Kalkhof-Rose Hall. She will play works by Robert Schumann, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, including early piano dances by Brahms that remained unpublished during his lifetime, as well as a Brahms song arrangement by Max Reger.

Sofja Gülbadamova is one of the most outstanding musicians of her generation. She has won numerous competitions and performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. In addition to her concert activities, the renowned pianist regularly releases CD recordings. In 2017, she was appointed artistic director of the International Brahms Festival Mürzzuschlag (Austria).
She has performed with numerous orchestras and has appeared at venues such as the Elbphilharmonie, the Laieszhalle Hamburg and the Berlin Philharmonic, as well as at renowned festivals in Europe and South and North America. An important focus for the pianist is her recordings dedicated to the Hungarian composer Ernst von Dohnányi (1877–1960). In addition to solo works and Dohnányi's piano concertos, she has recorded his variations on a children's song for piano and orchestra. The recording was voted Editor's Choice of the Month by the English music magazine The Gramophone in 2022. The next instalment of the Dohnányi edition was released in April 2024.

The piano recital is being held in collaboration with the academy project ›Johannes Brahms Gesamtausgabe‹ (Johannes Brahms Complete Edition). The project, with offices at the University of Kiel and the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna, is part of the academy programme funded by the federal and state governments.
