Concert with Belle Chen

Kalkhof-Rose-Saal

31. March 2026

19:00

Belle Chen's album ›Ravel In The Forest‹ (Platoon) leads listeners through ancient forests, silent clearings, and tropical canopies. You are accompanied by birds, a chameleon, a dragonfly — this imaginary space is imbued with the wonders of nature. In her live shows, Belle Chen pursues an idiosyncratic but delicate approach to musical storytelling. With the unmistakable influences of Maurice Ravel, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Joe Hisaishi's melodic sweetness shining through, Belle Chen blends experimental synth sounds, classical virtuosity, and free-flowing improvisations that feel equally at home on jazz and experimental stages.

Belle Chen is a London-based pianist and composer. Her innovative approach, which blends classical and electronic music, has already gained recognition from leading figures in the music industry. Her relationship with music was also shaped by her childhood in Taiwan and Australia. As a result, her playing blends influences from Western and Eastern cultures.
