On November 27, 2025, Prof. Dr. Christian Wiese, head of the academy project “Buber-Korrespondenzen Digital” (Buber Correspondence Digital), was awarded the Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose RMU Prize for Humanities and Social Sciences at Johannes Gutenberg University. He received the award for his outstanding research on Jewish intellectual and cultural history and for his exceptional commitment to science, education, and society. The award ceremony is made possible by the Sibylle Kalkhof-Rose Foundation. This foundation promotes research and teaching at JGU Mainz, especially among young researchers. On the one hand, it awards the University Prize for Young Scientists, which is presented annually in the categories of humanities and social sciences as well as natural sciences and medicine. On the other hand, it supports outstanding and sustainable projects and acquisitions at JGU. The RMU Prize is endowed with €10,000.
