Jerusalem lies by the sea. Jehuda Amichai called his second home town after Würzburg ›The Venice of God‹ In the Soirée Arcadia series of the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, texts by the Israeli-German poet are performed in musical settings by Avner Hanani, along with works by Ilse Weber and Paul Ben-Haim.

Sung by Shai Terry (mezzo-soprano) and accompanied on the piano by Adi Bar Soria. Thomas Sparr, author of the book Grunewald in the Orient. The German-Jewish Jerusalem‹, will accompany the evening.
