SOIRÉE ARCADIA: ›Jerusalem – The Venice of God‹

Jerusalem lies by the sea. Jehuda Amichai called his second home town after Würzburg ›The Venice of God‹ In the ›Soirée Arcadia‹ series of the Academy of Sciences and Literature | Mainz, texts by the Israeli-German poet are performed in musical settings by Avner Hanani, along with works by Ilse Weber and Paul Ben-Haim.

Sung by Shai Terry (mezzo-soprano) and accompanied on the piano by Adi Bar Soria. Thomas Sparr, author of the book ›Grunewald in the Orient. The German-Jewish Jerusalem‹, will accompany the evening.
