Fridays for Culture: Martin Sasse "Longing"

Kalkhof-Rose-Saal

29. May 2026

19:00

Everything, writes poet Nelly Sachs in her poem, begins with longing: “Everything begins with longing, there is always room in the heart for more, for something more beautiful, for something greater.” Longing is the title of Martin Sasse's latest album.
His compositions and playing reveal a concentrated, intimate atmosphere that allows for so many melodic and rhythmic forms of expression, variations, moods and emotions. And Martin Sasse draws on them all, profoundly, elegantly and with an incredible lightness, as if it were the slightest effort to make all these wonderful sounds, melodies and harmonies swing, sing, sparkle and dance so feather-light (Horst Peter Koll).

The concert is part of our “Fridays for Culture” series.

Admission is free. If you enjoyed the concert, we would appreciate a donation. The donation box is located to the right of the entrance to the Kalkhof-Rose-Saal.
Admission tickets are required.

Important note: There is usually a long waiting list for events held by the Academy in the Kalkhof-Rose concert hall. We therefore urge you to cancel in good time if you are unable to attend after confirming your participation. This is the only way we can adequately manage the waiting list. At the same time, we ask for your understanding that if you do not attend without giving prior notice, we will not be able to issue tickets to you in future.
