Curriculum Vitae

Born in June 1965 in Georgsmarienhütte, Lower Saxony
1984 to 1990: Studied mathematics, computer science and business administration at the University of Osnabrück
After completing her diploma, she pursued doctoral studies in computer science at Saarland University and the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Informatics in Saarbrücken
After receiving her doctorate in 1993, she became a research associate at the MPI for Informatics. During this time, she undertook several research stays in the USA, Japan, and other European countries
After receiving her habilitation in 1999, she accepted a professorship at the University of Dortmund
From 2001 to 2009, she was a professor at the University of Freiburg
Since 2009, she has been a professor at Humboldt University of Berlin
Competencies:
Her research focuses on the design and analysis of algorithms, especially online and approximation algorithms. Her other research interests include algorithmic game theory and algorithmic engineering.
