Curriculum Vitae
  • Born in June 1965 in Georgsmarienhütte, Lower Saxony
  • 1984 to 1990: Studied mathematics, computer science and business administration at the University of Osnabrück
  • After completing her diploma, she pursued doctoral studies in computer science at Saarland University and the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Informatics in Saarbrücken
  • After receiving her doctorate in 1993, she became a research associate at the MPI for Informatics. During this time, she undertook several research stays in the USA, Japan, and other European countries
  • After receiving her habilitation in 1999, she accepted a professorship at the University of Dortmund
  • From 2001 to 2009, she was a professor at the University of Freiburg
  • Since 2009, she has been a professor at Humboldt University of Berlin

     
  • Competencies:
    Her research focuses on the design and analysis of algorithms, especially online and approximation algorithms. Her other research interests include algorithmic game theory and algorithmic engineering.
