The Academy offers a limited number of internships to interested students of all courses of study. Possible areas of work include the Digital Academy, administration, press and public relations, editing, general secretariat and research projects in our company. The duration of the internship can be arranged individually.

With the ›Snapshot-Internship‹, students, graduates and doctoral candidates of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz and the University of Trier have the opportunity for short internships in one of the 40 Germany-wide long-term projects of the Academy in the humanities and musicology. For about a week, they will gain insights into concrete project work and have the opportunity to engage in direct exchange with project staff. Costs of stay and travel expenses at the respective project location are covered by the Academy.

Applications with curriculum vitae and short letter of motivation can be sent to generalsekretariatadwmainz.de at any time.

Impressions from the Snapshot Internship

»I have never regretted for a moment to look beyond my main subject. On the contrary: I am glad that I was able to see for myself how closely linked individual disciplines are, or rather that they use the same methods and deal with comparable issues. [...] After my week I can now say: Science is in the detail!«
Isabel, project ›Johannes Brahms Gesamtausgabe‹

»I have experienced how multifaceted the scientific examination of family names is and how complicated it can be to determine their origin and meaning. Furthermore, the working atmosphere was very pleasant, all my questions were answered in detail and I learned a lot - an experience I would not want to miss!«
Marie, project ›Digitales Familiennamenwörterbuch Deutschlands (DFD)‹
