[Translate to English:] Suchmaschine und nachnutzbarer Aggregator für Music-Incipits

IncipitSearch is a search engine for music incipits that can currently search over 850,000 entries in three music catalogs and music editions. Incipits are a pragmatic approach to cataloging notated music by transcribing a few measures of a score at a time. At the same time, it is sometimes possible to make statements about melodic characteristics of the music based on these short sequences.

Search queries can be entered into the search field by means of the displayed on-screen keyboard. Plaine & Easie Code is used as standard syntax for note encoding and can also be entered directly into the search field. In addition to the incipits found, the results list also provides linked back references to the entries in the respective catalog raisonné.
On the other hand, IncipitSearch is a service that can be linked back to other directories and editions in order to realize an incipit search there as well.

IncipitSearch makes all aggregated data available as Linked Open Data for further use.

The starting point for IncipitSearch was the development of an incipit search for the digital catalog raisonné of the historical-critical edition ›Christoph Willibald Gluck – Sämtliche Werke‹, which was developed in collaboration with Dipl.-Inf. Gabriel Reimers.
