Joachim Vogel Memorial Prize
In memory of Joachim Vogel, the Academy awards the Joachim Vogel Memorial Prize. The prize, which is endowed with €3,000 in prize money donated by the deceased's family, is awarded every two years as part of the annual celebrations of the Academy of Sciences and Literature. It is to be awarded to a young scientist (maximum age 40 years) who has already developed an outstanding profile in the field of criminal law and criminal procedural law and who has excelled with an excellent qualification thesis (doctorate or habilitation). The Memorial Prize will be awarded for the first time on 8 November 2019 at the Akademie der Wissenschaften und der Literatur as part of the annual celebration.
The jury consists of the following members: Prof. Dr. Tatjana Hörnle (Chairman), Prof. Dr. Matthias Jahn, Judge at the Federal Constitutional Court Prof. Dr. Henning Radtke, Federal Attorney Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schneider.
