Honour Ring of the Academy
In June 2000, the Academy decided to award a ring of honour to personalities who have distinguished themselves through their patronage of Academy projects.
The ring of honour is a copy of the golden seal ring Athens, National Museum, Inv. No. 8455 (CMS I No. 218), from tomb XLIV of the Mycenaean metropolis of Prosymna in the Argolis. The original dates from around 1500 BC. The heraldic scene depicts two sitting griffins flanking a twisted column.
