Working method

The working group sets itself the task of making visible the connection between legal, political and social events in the various epochs of the 20th century. In this sense, questions of national and European history are discussed at annual conferences and, where this makes sense and is possible, transferred into research projects.
By integrating the perspectives of knowledge, the ability to talk between the disciplines is promoted in order to raise awareness of the historicity of law and the significance of the historical process in the development of law. We expect this to provide impulses for new research and will involve young academics accordingly.
If research projects arise from this, they will be published as anthologies or monographs in the working group's publication series, which is published by Mohr Siebeck.
